​Simone Halep was present at an event organized to mark International Breast Cancer Day, her first public appearance since announcing her four-year ban from tennis.

Former WTA ranking leader Halep participated on Sunday in a charity event organized at “Casa Mița Biciclista” in Bucharest.

Accompanied by her parents, the two-time Grand Slam winner avoided talking about the doping scandal in which she is involved and spoke about the importance of regular medical examinations.

“This invitation is an extremely great honor for me. It is a great honor and great joy to be with the “Revival” foundation. As an athlete, but especially as a woman, I know how important prevention is, so I ask all women in our country to undergo annual medical examinations.
