Science and technology clusters, also called “science and technology centers”, are areas with the highest density of inventors and scientific authors.
In 2023, the world’s leading science and technology innovation clusters are Tokyo-Yokohama, followed by Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou, Seoul, Beijing and Shanghai-Suzhou.
China now has the largest number of clusters in the world, ahead of the United States.
