RENEWAL Dwayne “Caffe D” Davis has been indicted by a Nevada grand jury, prosecutor Mark DiGiacomo said, according to the BBC.

“There is a high presumption that he is responsible for the murder of Tupac Shakur and will be found guilty of murder with a deadly weapon,” the American media quoted him as saying.

Dwayne “Caffe D” Davis was arrested early Friday morning, though the exact charges or charges were not immediately known, according to the AP, which said he will be arraigned later Friday.

Reuters could not confirm the AP report or reach Davis or his legal representatives.

Shakur was wounded on September 7, 1996 and died in hospital six days later at the age of 25.

Davis admitted in interviews and in his 2019 memoir, The Legend of Compton Street, that he was in the Cadillac from which the shots that wounded Tupac were fired, the AP reported.

Shakur was a rapper, activist and actor who sold over 75 million records worldwide.

The arrest comes after Nevada State Police executed a search warrant in July in connection with the unsolved murder of rapper Tupac Shakur.

Tupac Shakur, better known as 2Pac, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 7, a few months before the 27th anniversary of the rapper’s death.

How Tupac Shakur was killed

Police Officer Jason Johansson said Orlando Anderson, who is Dwayne Davis’ nephew, and Shakur got into an argument at the casino shortly before the rapper was killed.

He showed footage from the hotel’s surveillance camera showing Anderson being beaten before Tupac was shot dead.

Johansson said the incident ultimately led to Shakur’s shooting and death.

Although it became clear very quickly that it was a gang crime, over time this case was repeatedly reviewed and only in 2018, when new information appeared, was it “resuscitated”.

The officer said it’s also significant that Dwayne Davis has repeatedly provided information that he was in the car from which the shots were fired.
