Karolina Pliskova will not participate in Transylvania Open 2023
In a video posted by the organizers on Instagram, Pliskova (36 WTA / World No. 2 in 2017) said she has an injury to her left wrist.
“Greetings to all my fans in Romania. I am very sorry to inform you that I will not be able to play this year in the tournament in Cluj. I was looking forward to playing in Romania again after a few years. I know you have been looking forward to my competition, but due to injury I will not be able to play this year. I hope to see you next year and I hope you still enjoy the tour” – Karolina Plishkova.
Unfortunately, @KaPliskova will not be able to compete in any tournaments this year, including the Transylvania Open, due to a season-ending left wrist injury.

The Transylvania Open will be held from October 16 to 22 in Cluj-Napoca, it will be held on closed hard, the tournament is part of the WTA 250 category, its total prize money is $259,303, and the title champion is Anna Blinkova.
