Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (Roland Garros-2021 finalist) defeated young Czech Linda Noskova (18 years old, 44 WTA) in three sets with a score of 6-3, 4-6, 6-0.

Daria Kasatkina (sixth favorite) overtook the Greek Despina Papamikhail (220 WTA) after two hours of play, the score 6-4, 6-4.

Caroline Garcia (5th seed and winner of the 2022 Tournament of Champions) defeated Ukrainian Angelina Kalina (28 WTA), 6-4, 6-3. The match lasted one and a half hours.

Finally, Maria Sakkari (4th favorite and last week’s champion in Guadalajara) beat Japan’s Misaki Doi (331 WTA), 6-3, 6-1. The game lasted only 66 minutes.
