Banned from tennis for 4 years after testing positive for the substance roxadustat, Simona Halep (31) has already announced that she will sue the company that produced the contaminated supplement that the athlete’s team blames for the positive test.
In the first reaction since the International Tennis Integrity Agency announced the four-year suspension of Simona Halep, the athlete from Romania said that “I intend to use all legal means against the company that produced the supplement in question.”
Meanwhile, one of Simona’s lawyers Bohdan Stoyka confirmed that this step has already been taken: “We sued the Canadian company more than a month and a half ago. The process can only be compensatory, it will only have a civil impact.”
