We know that road safety is important the risk of accidents remains high, regardless of the circumstances. That’s why it’s obviously very important to take precautions and keep your car in good condition. You should also ensure that all safety equipment is in good working order. And this is especially true in winter, when traffic conditions are very bad. That’s why the government decided to introduce a law on mountain areas to make winter tires mandatory in some regions.

Bad students
From November 1 every year and until March 31 for the 3rd year in a row, motorists driving through certain mountainous areas are required to install winter tires on their cars. Currently, 80% of French people are aware of this law, but they still have little information about the departments where it applies. Furthermore, although 90% of them welcome and adhere to the measure, there are also a large number who experience difficulties hard to respect. At any rate, that’s what explains the alarming research done by Gip.
Not always equipped
In fact, 91% of motorists surveyed said they were aware of the risks of not following this measure and do not drive on winter tires. However, only 64% of French people think it is really useful. Even worse, 43% don’t even think about changing their habits and installing winter tires. Alarming data, as 14% of respondents admit that they have already lost control of their car, this percentage rises to 30% in mountainous terrain.
