PwC announced the signing of a three-year strategic partnership agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS), which will act as an accelerator of innovation, efficiency and transformation for companies. The deal will strengthen PwC’s already proven ability to implement cloud technologies to include a portfolio of solutions that span both technology innovation and people care, delivering trust and measurable results in line with The New Equation global strategy.

This collaboration, which will enable PwC and AWS to deliver $800 million in client benefits, is a continuation of the long-standing partnership between the two companies. PwC’s extensive experience and ability to provide optimal solutions for strategy, operations, corporate and technology transformation, combined with the security and scalability of the AWS cloud infrastructure, will significantly increase both the level of innovation and the results achieved. This collaboration will affect a wide range of services, from cloud migration and modernization of data processing and analysis systems to information and risk management, customer relations and reporting related to the transition to climate neutrality.

PwC was one of the first companies to gain access to Amazon Bedrock, an autonomously managed platform that allows the creation of functional models through an API (application programming interface), making artificial intelligence solutions available to clients to improve the efficiency of internal processes.

These steps are important in the current context. According to the PwC Annual Global CEO Survey, approximately 40% of CEOs believe that the economic viability of their organization will suffer in the next ten years if they do not make the necessary changes.

“The rapid changes that companies must embrace today require organizations to be more agile so that they can prevent system failures and continuously adjust their business model,” said Julien Courbet, vice chair of PwC’s global advisory practice in the US. “The collaboration between PwC and Amazon covers all the needs of clients along the way, enabling them to update their technology infrastructure, rethink their business models and be well-positioned for the future.”

Clients have chosen PwC to effectively implement their AWS cloud strategy, starting with an assessment of how the solution can bring value to the entire organization. With an understanding focused on the needs and priorities of clients and their businesses, PwC offers strategies that can be implemented immediately.

“I confidently chose to work with PwC to implement the changes we needed by implementing AWS cloud technology. We have achieved very good results in the modernization phase of Wyndham’s loyalty ecosystem. Stays are processed the same day, billing cycles are closed within hours, and lost stays have decreased by 50%,” said Derek Barbara, Vice President of Data Services, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “The collaboration between PwC and AWS enables us to continuously innovate and influence our entire cloud strategy so that we can even more closely manage the needs of our customers.”

PwC’s global team has more than 5,200 AWS-certified employees, 15 of whom are AWS representatives. This new collaboration with AWS has already delivered results for more than 200 of PwC’s Fortune 500 clients.

“We are excited to partner with PwC to ensure that the most advanced cloud technology and the knowledge needed to use it reach our customers,” said Matt Garman, senior vice president of sales and marketing at AWS. “Together, we can help companies accelerate their digital transformation and become more financially efficient by harnessing the computing power of the cloud.”

One of the areas that the new technology will focus on is real-time monitoring and detection of sophisticated cyber-attacks, the ability to use which will increase the confidence of all parties involved. Nearly half (48%) of the 4,000 CEOs included in PwC’s recent annual CEO Survey report said they plan to increase investments in data protection and cybersecurity in the coming months. This data supports another study by PwC United States, in which 38% of CEOs surveyed said they expect cyberattacks on cloud infrastructure to be more aggressive in 2023.

AWS and PwC employees from the following countries are participating in this project: Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Great Britain, and the United States.

“This partnership will intensify the cooperation that PwC and AWS already have in Romania, with the aim of offering the most relevant services that allow to solve the problems of a wide range of operations carried out by companies, from cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, to cyber security and much more”, – said Gabriel Voisila, partner of PwC in Romania.
