The meeting is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.

A simple proposal entitled “Minister Rafila is a lazy and cynical tourist who leaves Romania without hospitals” was signed by 56 deputies of the USR and the Forza Dreptei party.

The initiators of the movement ask the Minister of Health to resign “so that Romania has a chance to have new hospitals, not unsanitary hospitals”, and patients, doctors and nurses have a chance “to the truth” in the health care system.

“Alexandru Rafila has to go because he cannot justify his wealth of more than 3 million euros. Alexandru Rafila must go so that Romania has a chance to have new hospitals and not unsanitary nurseries. Alexandru Rafila must go so that patients, doctors and nurses have a chance for the truth in the health care system. Alexandru Rafila has to go because he doesn’t care. Alexandru Rafila has to go because he doesn’t want to, he can’t, and in other words, it annoys him that he has to work. Alexander Rafila must go. And not to New York, Cuba or Geneva, on trips paid for by all of us. Alexandru Rafila must return home!”, the document says.

According to the initiators, this initiative is a “cry of rebellion” because never in the recent history of healthcare in Romania has there been a PSD minister “so weak and careless towards the needs of patients and the healthcare system”.

“Of course, PSD also appointed the Minister of Health and a former carrier of plagiarism and a former hospital administrator caught in bribery. But who could have imagined it could get any worse, especially when you see Alexander Rafila’s resume? Unlike other PSDs. ministers, Alexandru Rafila came as a specialist commentator on health care and will leave as a gravedigger of the Romanian health care system. Undoubtedly a man of the system, Minister Rafila held various positions, honorable or not, in the state apparatus. It cannot be said that he lacks administrative experience, being recognized in this sense. On paper, we have a minister of health who was twice awarded the “sanitary order” in the rank of knight, and later in the rank of officer, quote, “in recognition of all his activities, as well as for the important results obtained in the improvement of the medical act “. In fact, we have stinking politics in Health. An impostor. An incompetent and luxury tourist in exotic countries,” reads the text of the simple motion.

The signatories of the appeal also point out that Rafila has been refusing to develop the rules for the application of the Law on Stopping Hospitalization for more than two years and “developed the Plan Against Cancer” “without any compassion and attention to cancer patients.”

They claim that Rafila has “completely cut off” funding from the PNRR for the Cluj transplant center project, given that the Cluj-Napoca Transplant Institute is operating in an unauthorized bridge.

They claim that absolutely all county ambulance services are run by interim managers appointed every six months at the behest of Minister Rafila, understaffed and overworked, and old ambulances “10-15 years old with more than 1 million kilometers on them”. .

The document also claims that none of Romania’s hospital beds meet the criteria for treating serious burns, noting that “Minister Rafila refuses to implement reforms”, “Romania is losing €740 million in PNRR money for hospitals and equipment”, and investment in pre-hospital medicine is behind schedule
