On Saturday, the police found more than a hundred envelopes with “white powder” in the room of a 36-year-old man from Bucharest. A young man’s mother called the single emergency number 112 to ask for help after her son assaulted her.

“On September 16, 2023, police officers from the Bucharest Municipality Police Headquarters – Police Department 19 were alerted at around 18:30 via the 112 system by a woman that, after some disagreements verbally, her son would commit a physical robbery while they were in an apartment located in sector 5”, – reported the capital police.

The police entered the house with the consent of the victim, a 54-year-old woman.

The police found the woman’s son, a 36-year-old man, in the house, who was agitated and behaving suspiciously.

“In his room, 105 envelopes with a white powder, which can have a psychoactive effect, were discovered and seized,” the police said.

The woman did not need medical help, and the man was taken to the department for further examination.

The police issued a temporary protective order for the man’s name for a period of 5 days, and also put an electronic bracelet on him.

The investigation into domestic violence by the 19th police department under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office of the 5th district court is ongoing.

The Bucharest Organized Crime Squad has been notified of substances that may have psychoactive effects.
