Tell me what Peugeot 3008 commercial success is an understatement. It sold 1,320,000 copies worldwide. Launched in 2016, it was able to deliver second wind of the Lion brand, as well as the Stellantis group.

The break is done

When redesigning one of its bestsellers, the brand was faced with two very different choices. First of all, the choice of reason, which consists of do not change the recipe which is still a hit and brings only some minor changes. However, there is another choice much riskier and that’s what Peugeot did.

In fact, the Lion brand decided to start with a White paper. Here there is a risk of losing fans of the old 3008 by completely changing the design of the latter.

SUV coupe

The Peugeot company decided to turn its 3008 into SUV coupe. But be careful, at Peugeot we prefer to use the term “ fast back“. A more appropriate term, as the line of this 3008 is characterized by that deep roofline.

The new 3008 is longer than the old one. He takes nine centimeters, changing the length from 4.45 to 4.54 meters. As you can see in the animation above, the chrome and most of the decorative inserts are gone. We also notice a new dinner half full on this new 3008. They are very similar to what we already know on 408. They will be offered in 19 AND 20 inches.

Watch the claws

As with all recent Peugeots, we find this new E-3008 at the level of the lights three claws lion brand emblem. Unlike the old one, Peugeot decided to significantly simplify the range of the new model. There will be only two treatments in the catalog viz look finished including LED lights and premium finishes”GT» with LED pixel lights. The radiator grille of the “fast” SUV is complete and designed around the brand’s logo placed in the center. At the bottom of the front we find the air vent with the driver assistance sensor, again centered.

This new 3008 is also wide more imposing than the old one with a width of 1.90 m compared to 1.84 m previously.

The rear is completely redesigned

Big changes are also in the rear compared to the old generation. AND floating spoiler appears with two small “ears” on the sides, which also resembles a certain model of the brand. Rear lights in the form of claws appeared 3D in the GT version.

You also have changes regarding the position of the model name. The 3008 emblem is no longer placed to the left of the trunk, but rather In the center. In the lower part we find, as at 408, a posterior shield prominent creating the impression of the strength of the car.

Make room for a panoramic cabin i

If we see a lot of design changes outside car, the same applies to the interior. This new 3008 includes new panoramic cockpit equipped with a 21-inch screen, including a digital counter and a touch screen.

Appeared on the new generation 308 and later on the 408, i-toggle tactile buttons are also present inside this 3008. Changes also to the gearbox control, which is no longer located on the center console, but on the instrument panel.

The steering wheel, for its part, remained approximately the same size as the old model. Buttons on the steering wheel now tactile. However, to interact with them, the driver will need to push on them. The big advantage of the steering wheel is thatit hides the panel a little less facing the driver unlike the old generation.

Let’s now wait to see the final version of the hybrid versions of this new 3008 to see if Peugeot still has surprises in store for us in terms of design. From now on, let’s be patient before we can try for you this new E-3008.
