Nicolae Stanciu equaled Claudio Caceru in the rating of active players with the most goals for Romania

The match against Kosovo in Romania was emotional, starting with the Euro 2024 qualifier, which was abandoned in the 17th minute after UniČ›i Sub Tricolor displayed a banner reading “Kosovo is Serbia” on the pitch.

After several insistences from UEFA representatives, the Kosovars returned to the field and the game was resumed.

The visitors were quickly outclassed after star Muriki was sent off for his second yellow card.

Nicolae Stanciu was an angel and a demon for Romania, but he also set an important record.

The Romanian midfielder missed a chance to open the scoring in the 61st minute of the game when he wasted a shot from 11 meters.

The player from Damac took revenge 22 minutes later and opened the scoring against Romania with a left-footed shot from the edge of the 16-meter box.

It was the 13th success for the Romanian player, who equaled Claudio Caceru as the active player with the most goals for Romania.
