​Coco Gauff (sixth seed) and Aryna Sabalenko (second seed) will meet in the US Open 2023 women’s singles final.

Gauff lost in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5, to Karolina Muhova, a Roland Garros finalist this year. The Arthur Ashe match lasted two hours and three minutes.

In the second semi-final, the drama was special. Madison Keys won the first set with an incredible score of 6-0, and Arina “remained” in the match after a 7-1 tiebreak in the second set.

The deciding game was extraordinary and the tiebreak was a super tiebreak. Future world leader Sabalenka won the final game, in which she managed her emotions better: 10-5.

The match lasted two hours and 32 minutes (0-6, 7-6(1), 7-6(10-5) on Sabalenka).

  • In the current season, Aryna Sabalenko reached the semifinals of all Grand Slam tournaments. He won the Australian Open earlier in the year but lost in the penultimate act at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
  • For Aryna, this will be the first US Open final.
  • Coco Hauf played only one Grand Slam final: Roland Garros 2022 (she was defeated by Iga Sviatek).
