Government private cloud represents the largest investment in the digitization of the state with the funds of the PNRR with funding of more than 560 million euros (excluding VAT), an IT platform that will be managed by the Romanian Digitization Authority (ADR) in cooperation with the Special Telecommunications Service (STS) and the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) .

What procurements have already been announced and when the government cloud will be ready
Present on Friday at the I3M business forum, the minister of digital technologies announced which procurements have already started for the implementation of the cloud, and the good news is other European funds for this government cloud.
- “From a practical point of view of the level of cloud implementation, today for 530 million euros per hard component we have started 6 public procurements, another 6 public procurements are in the preparation stage and should be launched in September – mid-October at the latest and one more before the end of the year.
- And I come with good news: funding from POCIDIF (in the Operational Program Smart Growth, Digitization and Financial Instruments 2021-2027) that has been transferred for transparency in decision-making, 524 million euros, which will be used exclusively for the migration of these database, because we need an integrated system through which every state institution can communicate and share data,” said Minister Bohdan Ivan.
He also said that “at this point, with this funding, we will have 30 government agencies migrating to the government cloud.
- “By mid-October, we will know very clearly which 30 databases will be the first to move to the cloud. We assumed that by the end of 2024 we would have about 70% cloud functionality and by the end of 2026 it would be 100% functional,” he said.
The minister also noted that he hopes to see the results from next year.
