“On September 5, 2023, the Bucharest Municipality Police Headquarters – Section 12 was informed by number 112 that a tree had fallen at the intersection of some streets in Sector 3, and a person was detained. under it The police and an ambulance went to the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital for additional medical care,” the police said.

12 police departments are continuing the investigation into the crime of intentional bodily harm and will notify the relevant prosecutor’s office.

“The tree in Sector 3, in the area of Camille Ressu – Odobeşti, fell due to weather conditions (yellow code for strong wind was announced in Bucharest), the fact was also confirmed by the ISU firefighters present at the scene. The tree that fell was a chestnut. As a result of this incident, the person suffered minor injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital, where the person was conscious and cooperating with emergency medical personnel. Currently, management crews of the 3rd sector are working on the site, clearing the wood and cleaning the area,” the 3rd sector city hall reported.

Sector 3 City Hall accuses the Metropolitan City Hall of not issuing toilet notices since 2020.

“This tree, like others in the area, has not been cleaned (reducing the crown) for 3 years, because the City Hall of Bucharest, by order of the Mayor General, has not issued any notice of cleaning (reducing the crown) since 2020. , the only operations of the PMB are only the removal of dry branches,” the representatives of the institution also conveyed.

As recently as 3 years ago, the city hall issued notices on the conveyor belt not only for pruning trees, but also for felling them. Since Nikushor Dan headed the institution, things have changed, but it has reached another extreme: there are no more timely approvals even for dry trees or those that really need crown intervention, which is a block at the municipality level.

How many appeals regarding cleaning and cutting down the forest were received by the capital city hall and how many were responded to

At the level of 2021, 7,614 requests from individuals and legal entities regarding the issuance of notices on felling and deforestation were registered. According to the city hall, the municipality issued only 149 notices, which approved the cleaning of 131 trees, the removal of 977 trees and the transplanting of 62 trees.

In 2022, 9,522 appeals from individuals and legal entities regarding the issuance of these conclusions were registered. According to information provided by the municipality, 1,198 notices were issued, approving the pruning of 2,325 trees, the felling of 1,573 and the replanting of 20 trees.

At the level of 2023, by May, 3,180 requests from individuals and legal entities regarding the issuance of cleaning/felling acts were registered, 61 notifications were issued, which approved the cleaning of 347 specimens of trees and the felling of 388.

The fact that the notices are no longer issued by a conveyor belt and the district town halls are no longer left to their own devices, as was the case until now, is good, but the mayors of the districts complain that the municipality issues little or no notices about dry or dangerous trees.
