A lawyer for the company Flagas SRL, which owns the gas station that caused the explosions in Crevedia, went to the local town hall today to talk to the victims. Also present was Senator Diana Shoshoake, who spoke with both Mayor Florin Petre and a lawyer right in the mayor’s office.

In the commotion that broke out in the town hall, where there were dozens of people – journalists, local residents – Diana Shoshoake also appeared, who said that the affected people should consult lawyers before signing any offer from Flagas administrators SRL.

The mayor told Diana Sosoake to give the floor to the company representative, to which the senator responded:

“Don’t raise your voice at me. I guarantee you that if I raise your voice, you will come out,” Sosoake said.

Diana Sosoake’s presence was not liked by all the locals, at one point one of them asked her to let them talk.

“Let’s talk to this person! Let them come and build houses for people! Let us speak, not you,” a local resident told the senator.

“See what’s here? Is it so nice in the city hall? (…) I am not emotional because I have no reason for it,” the mayor told reporters.

The company Flagas, which is owned by the son of the mayor of Caracal, recently expressed its “intention” to take over the costs of repairing the buildings that were damaged by the explosions on August 26. The document, developed by two administrators of the company, was published on Facebook by the city hall of Krevedia.

Today, only the lawyer of the company without two accomplices arrived at the town hall in Krevedia. When asked about the amount the company is willing to pay as compensation, he said: “As much as it needs, that much will be allocated.”

The shareholders of Flagas SRL are Jonuts Daniel Doldurea, the son of PSD Caracal mayor (51%), and Cosmin Jonuts Stenga (49%).

Three days after the explosions, representatives of the company Flagas SRL sent a statement saying that they are “concerned these days about the situation of the victims and all the people who have been affected and are suffering in any way because of this accident.” : “With unspeakable grief we are devastated to realize the severe trials through which so many families are passing, and we hope that we shall not be disqualified in our efforts to relieve them.”

The devastating explosions in Krevedia revealed a whole series of violations – the gas station, which belonged to the son of the PSD mayor Caracal, was closed only for documentation purposes. The liquefied gas station in Krevedia was fined several times by the Inspectorate of Emergency Situations and closed since September 2020, but nevertheless continued to operate, and the investigation by the prosecutor’s office also aims to establish the role of the institutions that should have carried out inspections and ensured that the LPG storage does not continue to work.
