Carlos Alcaraz will be present in the 1/8 finals of the US Open tournament.

The world leader was defeated in the third round by the British Daniel Evans (28 ATP), in the end of the match, decided in four sets.

The Wimbledon champion won the first two sets quite quickly, but the Briton held on and managed to win the third set.

A fourth set followed, in which the scores went only back-to-back until 2-2. From there, the Iberian took complete control, and after 3 hours and 13 minutes, he ended the dispute.

Alcaraz will meet Matteo Arnaldi (61 ATP) in the 1/8 finals. The Italian beat Cameron Norrie in the third round 6-3, 6-4, 6-3.
