
Thursday saw the final round of the Romanian Cup playoffs and Zalău pulled off the surprise of the day by knocking out Romanian Super League side Poli Iaşi.
“U Cluj”, “Hermannstadt”, “Zaleu” and “UTA Arad” qualified in the groups of the Romanian Cup
Cluj University, Hermannstadt, Zalău and UTA Arad completed the series of qualified teams in the Romanian Cup groups.
The team coached by Ioan Ovidiu Sabau beat Ceakhleul Piatra Neamts 4-2 at the end of the match, in which all 6 goals were scored in the second half.
