
A severe fire broke out on Tuesday evening in the restored area of the IOR Park in Bucharest, and firefighters intervened on site to extinguish the flames.
The flame broke out around 10:00 p.m. and is located near the Titan store, on the territory that has been renovated. According to the ISU, they appear on an area of approximately 4,000 square meters.
- “The dry vegetation fire is being extinguished in the IOR park, on an area of approximately 4,000 square meters. 4 fire engines are working. At the moment, the fire has been contained. There are no casualties,” the message says. ISU press release, EuroNews reports.
This is not the first time such a fire has occurred in the built-up area of the park.
Since the beginning of the year, dozens of trees have been cut down on the returned section of the IOR park, with an area of almost 11 hectares. They cut down so many trees that the blocks on the boulevard can be seen from the park. Nikolay Hryhorescu, although there used to be a “forest” there.
It will be recalled that 11 hectares of green areas were reconstructed in 2007, and last year the owners or tenants announced that they wanted to build an amusement park there.
