In recent days, Tesla updated its iPhone app, introducing a rather interesting new feature: support for quick commands, an iOS automation tool that allows you to combine several actions, which can also be controlled by voice.

But what does that mean? It’s actually quite simple, as Tesla users and owners can take advantage of a variety of controls and automations to control various functions, including controlling the air conditioning or unlocking the car’s doors with a simple “Hey Siri, open the car”.

“Hey Siri, open the car”

With this new update, the connection between Tesla and iPhone has become even better. As noted, the Tesla iOS app now offers a number of commands to remotely control the car and many of its functions.

This ranges from locking/unlocking the doors to starting/stopping the air conditioning to heat or cool the cabin, through Sentinel mode controls to turn security cameras on or off and Dog mode controls that let you leave the air conditioning on. when there are animals on board.

The iPhone app can also be used to activate the heated seats, open and close the windows, turn on the lights or horn, open the trunk and even control charging functions: including starting or stopping charging.

More convenience in everyday life

You can also configure certain more or less complex commands so that they are executed in synce. For example, saying “Hey Siri, open the car”you can also start the air conditioner or use voice commands to open the trunk.

Thanks to the integration of the Tesla app with iOS Quick Commands, tasks can also be automatically set up using geolocation, so your gate opens automatically when you get home.

The update is available from August 19 in the App Store in France, described as follows: “Access car controls and climate control from Apple Shortcuts”.
