US President Joe Biden said on Friday that US officials are trying to establish exactly how the plane of the head of the “Wagner” PMK mercenaries Evgeny Prigozhin was shot down in Russia, writes Reuters.
Earlier on Friday, Russia reprimanded the US president after Biden said he was “not surprised” that Yevgeny Prigozhin had died in a plane crash, and Moscow said it was unacceptable for Washington to make such comments.
When asked by journalists what led to the crash of Prigozhin’s plane, Joe Biden answered: “I have no right to talk about it… We are trying to establish exactly, but I have nothing to say.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin offered condolences to the family of Yevgeny Prigozhin on Thursday, breaking his silence after the mercenary leader Wagner’s plane crashed on Wednesday night, two months after he led a rebellion against the Russian military.
