This is a 5.7 million lei project for the development of medical infrastructure in a hospital under the control of the capital city hall, said Secretary of State Alexandru Rogobete after a visit to the Obregia hospital.

“The project was approved for full funding from the PNRR on February 2nd and the funding agreement was signed shortly thereafter. I am concerned that although almost 6 months have passed since the signing of the contract, this medical facility has not actually started the implementation procedures, a fact that will directly lead to delays in the PNRR and will affect, globally, the entire program!” – stated the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Emergency Situations :

“The Ministry of Health, as the financier and national coordinator of the PNRR for the “Health” component, controls every procedure of public procurement, which is carried out with non-returnable European money! When violations are reported or there are suspicions of possible corrupt practices, I assure you that we will intervene quickly and will not allow anyone, whoever they are, to jeopardize this Program,” he added.

“According to the results of the supervisory body, if necessary, we will definitely terminate the financing agreement! This will happen to all beneficiaries where we find serious violations and corrupt practices!” said Rogobete.

The control came after Libertatea wrote two weeks ago that a doctor from Obregia Hospital had complained to the Bucharest Medical Hospitals and Services Administration (ASSMB) about a possible act of corruption.
