
Chinese manufacturer of electric cars Nio has just announced the opening of its first battery replacement station Third generation power exchange station in Europe: It is located in the port of Frihamnen in Stockholm, Sweden.
“We are proud to be the first country in Europe to open a new, faster and smarter Power Swap station. With our station in Enköping and the future one in Arlandastad, we now offer flexible battery replacement options in the Stockholm area.”said Matthias Lundgren, CEO of Nio in Sweden.
Nio battery replacement station: up to 408 replacements per day
Nio’s new Power Swap Station 3.0 features a total of 21 batteriesthat is, eight more than the previous generation: thus, it can perform up to 408 battery changes per daypower increase by 30% compared to the second generation.
The speed of battery replacement has also been improved: Nio customers can now replace their dead batteries with fully charged ones, less than four minutes.
This new Power Swap Station 3.0 provides even faster user interaction and helps reduceconcern related to the autonomy of his electric car : Thus, Nio offers a new full charge experience for electric car drivers.
Charging station with a capacity of 500 kW
With each battery change, users can also enjoy a full inspection and health check of the vehicle’s battery, engine and electronic control system. Other new security improvements include 3D viewing systems to prevent unauthorized access to the station at any time.
In addition to replacing the battery, a new one Power Swap Station 3.0 also includes the latest generation Nio fast charger: a Super charger with a capacity of 500 kWequipped with a liquid-cooled charging cable that is 50% lighter and provides a maximum charging current of 660 A.
