The Judicial Inspectorate announced on Tuesday a national-level control of cases in which investigations are conducted into the possession of prohibited substances and crimes committed under their influence. The decision was announced in the context of the tragedy on May 2, when a 19-year-old boy under the influence of several drugs drove into a group of people and killed two young people. In 2022, Vlad Paska was investigated by DIICOT for illegal possession of dangerous drugs for personal use after he was caught with “0.68g of cannabis for consumption”, and the case was later dismissed.
“The Chief Inspector of the Judicial Inspection is tasked with conducting thematic control at the national level regarding cases, the subject of which is the possession of prohibited substances and crimes committed under their influence,” the Judicial Inspection reported.
