Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari have split after 14 months of marriage, and Variety has learned that the pop star is being represented by a large team of Hollywood divorce lawyers.

Spears has hired celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser and will continue to work with influential attorney Matthew Rosengart, the former federal prosecutor who helped free her from custody, writes Variety.

Asghari – a trainer, model and actor who has appeared in Black Monday and Hacks – proposed to Spears in September 2021, and the couple married in June 2022.

They previously dated for more than five years after first meeting on the set of Spears’ 2016 music video for “Slumber Party” from her album “Glory.”

When Spears got engaged to Asghari, she was still under guardianship. Testifying at the end of her 13-year guardianship, Spears shared her desire to marry Asghari and have more children, but claimed she was prevented from doing so because her finances and basically every aspect of her life were controlled by her guardian. , including her father Jamie Spears.

“I would like to progress, I want to be part of a real business, I want to be able to get married and have a child. I was told that at this point in my custody I cannot get married or have a child,” Spears pleaded before a judge in June 2021.

Spears and Asghari married in an intimate ceremony at Spears’ home in Thousand Oaks, California, in front of about 60 guests, including Madonna, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore and Paris Hilton.

Her father, mother Lynn Spears and sister Jamie Lynn Spears were absent. The marriage of Spears with Asghari was the third for the star. The ex-spouses have no joint children.
