Thus, to use a car worth around 10,000 EUR, the mandatory annual costs that Romanians must pay include RCA (1,500 lei), ITP (100 lei), toll (100 lei), tax (100 lei). ), parking depending on the area (500 lei), changing tires from one season to another (200 lei), car wash (250 lei), major repairs (800 lei) and fuel for one full tank per month (4,550 lei).

In total, more than 8,000 lei, to which you can add other costs, such as CASCO insurance (1,800 lei), purchase of new tires (1,400 lei), and possible repairs, the average cost of which is 1,800 lei.

To cover all these expenses, the car owner has to take out of his pocket more than 13,000 lei per year, which is equivalent to about 3 average salaries.

“Many drivers do not keep a centralized record of overdue documents such as RCA, ITP or rovinieta, ending up paying fines that increase the costs of the vehicle, and so significantly,” said Christian Astalos, founder of MyCar Assistant.

The share of costs for car maintenance is divided into maintenance (63%) and repairs (37%). The most registered service operations are the replacement of oil and filters, for which about 450 lei are allocated.

Next comes the replacement and repair of tires (850 lei), distributor (2,050 lei), suspension system (1,825 lei) and brake discs/pads (1,435 lei).

Top of the most careful drivers in Romania

Drivers from Cluj occupy the first place in the list of the most careful owners who enter the maintenance history of their cars in the application, followed by drivers from the districts of Bistrica, Dolj, Arges, Arad and Bucharest. At the opposite pole are drivers from Satu-Mare, Kalaras and Teleorman counties.
