22 Russian diplomats and 23 technical staff members of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau, together with their families, left the Republic of Moldova on Monday and returned to the Russian Federation on board a plane specially sent by Moscow, following Chisinau’s request. The number of Russian citizens working in the Russian embassy will be reduced from 70 to 25 people, local media reports.
The plane sent to transport Russian diplomats to Moscow landed at Chisinau International Airport at 05:30 local time.
45 employees of the Russian Embassy were brought to Chisinau International Airport by two buses, several cars and a truck. Journalists did not have access to the airport, NewsMaker writes, News.ro reports.
