The largest increase in emissions – more than 20% – occurred in the “Transport and storage” sector.
This section includes activities related to the provision of passenger and freight transportation by rail, water, air or road transport, as well as ancillary activities such as cargo handling, storage, etc. and those performed by terminals and parking lots.
There was also significant growth of over 13% in construction and other economic activities (IU CAEN sections).
This last category (IU sections include: hotels and restaurants (I), information and communications (J), financial intermediation and insurance (K), real estate transactions (L), professional, scientific and technical activities (M), activities of providing administrative services and support services (N), public administration and defense (O), education (P), health care and social assistance (Q), performing, cultural and recreational activities (R), other service activities (S) ) and activities of extraterritorial organizations and bodies T)
Other services (S) refer to associational activities, computer repair activities, personal and household effects, and activities of private households as employers of domestic staff (which include maids, cooks, waiters, valets, butlers, laundresses, gardeners, porters, grooms, drivers, guards, governesses, nannies, meditators, secretaries, etc.
The activities of extraterritorial organizations and bodies include: the activities of international organizations, such as the UN and its specialized agencies, regional bodies, etc., the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the World Customs Organization, the Organization for Economic Cooperation, etc. and Development, Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, European Community, European Free Trade Association, etc.
