Spotify has confirmed the subscription price increase that has been rolling out since last week, but in Romania the prices remain the same for now.

Spotify subscription prices are increasing in most countries where the Swedish streaming service is available. The price increase will affect all available subscriptions, from Premium to Student.

Fortunately, Romania is not among the long list of countries where prices will be increased, as announced by the company. At least for now, our country remains at the old prices.

Prices for Spotify in Romania range from €2.50 per month for students to €8 per month for a family of up to six people.

In other countries, prices increase by 1-2 euros (pounds sterling, dollars, etc.) per month. For example, in France, Spotify Premium will increase in price from 10 euros to 11 euros, and Duo (for two people) will cost 15 euros after an increase of two euros.

The price increase announced by Spotify is not a surprise. Not only do they come on the heels of price hikes by many competing services, but the company’s CEO also subtly hinted at the move. (Source: News.ro / PHOTO: Dreamstime.com)
