Miriam Bulgarou entered the main draw of the WTA 250 tournament in Hamburg by winning Sunday’s final qualifying round.

Bulgara, who is ranked 215 in the world, defeated Colombian Emiliana Arango (176 WTA, favorite 3 in the qualification), score 7-6(5), 7-5.

The match lasted two and a half hours.

Know:

  • In the first round of the main draw, Miriam will meet Austrian Julia Grabher (58 WTA, favorite 5).
  • Having entered the main draw, Bulgaru secured a prize of 2,438 euros and 19 points in the WTA ranking.

The European Open in Hamburg is a “WTA 250” tournament, which took place from July 23 to 29 and has a total prize fund of $259,303. It is played on clay, and 32 athletes will start.

The competition in 2021 was won by Gabriela Ruse, and the title champion is the American Bernarda Pera.
