The road leading to Brasov via Valea Doftanei, on the route Brădet – Săcele, an alternative to DN1, will be completed in the winter of 2025, says Development Minister Adrian Vestea. He claims that the company that won the tender for the implementation of this project is serious and says that he hopes that the order to start the work will be given in the fall of this year.

  • “We have taken steps in a certain direction, we are building an alternative version to DN 1, on Vala Doftaney, from Kampina head in the direction of Vala Doftaney – Bradet – Sechele – Brasov.
  • This is an option that will no longer pass through the resorts of Vala Prahova and is an easy option for those who want to reach Brasov directly.
  • This is a project we are implementing through the National Investment Company, we have been implementing it since I was the president of the district council, together with our neighbors from Prahova,” Adrian Vestea said on Prima Tv on Saturday, News.ro reported.

According to him, the tender has been held, the project of the alternative road to DN 1 is at the stage of implementation, and in this period work on the technical project is ongoing.

  • “I hope that in the fall we will issue an order on the organization of the construction site and on the start of construction, so that in the next two years from the start of the order, this road will be in use, which will connect the two districts. (…)
  • He is a serious builder who won this project. I am convinced that they are mobilizing so that this project is implemented by the winter of 2025,” Vestea also stated.

He believes that the current decision-makers should start implementing the Bucharest-Brasov motorway project, which has been talked about for almost two decades.

  • “This is a goal that arose in my first year as mayor (Brasov – no), I remember when the expropriations started.
  • I sit and think today, it’s been a long time, 19 years, let’s still be at the same stage, and I think it’s our duty, today, to mark this goal as achieved, at least to start it,” Vestea also said, noting that while Brasov is an extremely attractive university and tourist destination, Brasov is not connected by highway to any of Romania’s regions.
