FKSHB and Dynamo will meet in the first derby of the new championship season at a tense moment for Romanian football, caused by the refusal of CSA Steaua officials to allow the game to be played at the new arena in Genc.

FCSB started this season in the best possible way with a 3-1 away win over FCU Craiova (match played at Tg. Jiu) and will make their European debut next Thursday when they play in Bulgaria against CSKA 1948 Sofia in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the Conference League.

This summer FCSB brought in Siyabong Ngezana (Centre back, Kaizer Chiefs), Damian Djokovic (Midfielder, Al Raed) and Aleksandra Beluce (Midfielder, Puskas Akademia), while Mihai Lixandra (Midfielder, Mioveni) and Valentyn Gheorghe (Forward, Umraniyespor) returned from loan.

Instead, defenders Radu Bobok, Florin Achim, Julian Cristea, Yoonas Tamm Sorin Şerban, midfielders Dejan Sorescu, Rezvan Oaide, Boban Nikolov, Ovidiu Perianu, Alexandra Mushi and forwards Billel Omrani and Janis Stojka left.

“We have a derby again, a tough match, we know it will be a tough match. I believe in the players, they have a good moment. We have to be aggressive. Dinamo residents love to play football.

I don’t know if they will be able to surprise us. We have our plan, our strategy,” said FCSB coach Elias Charalambous.

Having returned to the elite after a one-season “exile” in League 2, “Dynamo” lost at home to “University of Craiova” (the match was held at the “Arcul de Triomphe” stadium) in the first stage with a score of 0:2.

Dynamo signed five players this summer: Gonzalo Gregorio (Leiria, second league of Portugal), Josue Omava (FC Red Star, third league of France), Dennis Politik (Port Vale, third league of England), Adnan Golubic (Koper, first league of Slovenia) and Christian Kostin (FC Voluntari), while Ricardo Grigore (Petrolul) and Jani Kretsu (FC Arges) will return lived after the lease.

“We have a very difficult match ahead of us, against the best team in the championship, with many talented players, but we are ready. We rely on the energy of the group, on discipline, on strictness, but I think we have players with personality who can make the difference in the final meters. These are our strengths,” said Dynamo coach Ovidiu Burke.

The last time the two teams met was in the 2021-2022 championship, when FKSHB won both matches against Dynamo with a score of 6:0 at home and 3:0 away.
