On Saturday, July 22, starting at 11:00 a.m., in the garden of the National Museum of Romanian Literature, children will be able to take part in Thomasin’s workshops – trolls, elves and goblins, where they will explore a fantastic world by creating their own characters.

Starting at 17:00, a series of mini-concerts performed by young vocalists in various musical styles will be held on the territory of the Military Circle: pop, pop-rock, hip-hop, jazz, pop-jazz and funk. .

A theatrical performance with puppets supported by the artists of the Tăndărică Animation Theater will take place on Saturday from 19.00.

Saturday evening’s program will continue with a parade of Bucharest Metropolitan Circus characters, starting at 8:00 p.m., in the area of ​​the Revolution monument.

On Sunday, July 23, the artistic moments of the National Animation Theater return to Calea Victoria, in the area of ​​the National Art Museum of Romania, between 19:00 and 20:30.

The Filipescu-Cesianu House of the Bucharest City Museum awaits the residents of Bucharest on the weekend of July 22-23 with three exhibitions: “Museum of Ages – from childhood to old age”, “Near the Saints. Frescoes of the Vaqueresti monastery after 40 years”, “History of the unbroken church. Sf. Nicolae-Udricani”, open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Thanks to the “Museum of Centuries” exhibition, visitors are invited to imagine what a day would look like in the life of people from the 18th century to the present day. They are also invited to discover new fragments of frescoes that illustrate the turbulent past of the Văcărești Ensemble and to reconstruct the historical evolution of the Church of St. Nicholas Udricani and the community that developed around it.

Exhibitions of painting, decorative arts, fashion design, interior design, iconography and graphics by students of the Bucharest Art School can also be visited this weekend at the headquarters, located in sector 4 of the capital, on Cuza Vode street no. 100.

Launched in April, “Open Streets – Bucharest, City Promenade” takes place every weekend until October 8.

The project is organized by the Capital City Hall through the Department of Culture, Education and Tourism together with ARCUB – the Cultural Center of the City of Bucharest and PROEDUS – the Center for Educational and Sports Projects of the City of Bucharest – as zonal operators.

Road restrictions

In connection with the event, on July 22-23, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., traffic will be suspended on Calea Victoria. Moving will be allowed on Calea Victoriei, Sevastopol Street, Gheorghe Manu, Dacia Boulevard, Ion Câmpineanu Street, Regina Elisabeta Boulevard, Știrbei Vodă street between Calea Victoriei and Dem. I. Dobrescu. Bucharest Transport Company traffic will be rerouted without affecting passengers.

Residents will be allowed access to their homes as well as businesses in the area according to the signs temporarily installed during the restrictions on the following streets: Frumoasă Street between Sevastopol Street and Calea Victoriei, Gina Patrichi Street between Lascăr Catargiu Boulevard and Calea Victoriei, Griviței street between Constantin Budișteanu and Calea Victoriei, indicating that residents’ vehicular access will be redirected to the alley in front of Řtirbei Palace, then to Banului street.

Traffic on Calea Victoria is restored at night until the morning (from Saturday to Sunday) from 22:00 to 09:00. For the safety of the participants of the event, bicycle lanes are also closed on roads where cars no longer drive.
