In the evening of July 12, hackers announced that they had gained access to secret data on the organization of the NATO summit in Vilnius.

Yes, 29 files were allegedly leaked containing various information about the security of NATO leaders, including various presentations, protocols, software and names of military personnel.

Cybersecurity specialist Lukas Apinis tells 15min.lt that the data leak is not a threat, but it would be completely different if it happened before the meeting.

Thus, the leaked documents claimed that during the preparation of the summit, 30 institutions and 346 “assets” located in Lithuania were checked. Of them, 23% were in the “risk zone” with an unacceptable level of threat.

Security was also monitored by a group of snipers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania, and personal data of 17 employees were entered in the documents.

At the same time, the routes of the NATO delegations would be merged.
