Andriy Rublev says he does not feel guilty, but wants the war to end

Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, Rublev has sent several messages of peace. Andrii was not allowed to Wimbledon-2022, but athletes from Russia and Belarus returned to the complex at the All England Club this year and the seventh favorite was well received by the public.

“Last year I didn’t get to play in one of the best tournaments in our sport. But being here this year made me feel grateful. During these two weeks, I felt a lot of support. And now too.

Like I said, to be from the country I’m from, to have that kind of support, it’s special. I don’t know, sometimes I feel like I don’t deserve it or something. I don’t know what you need to do to get this support. I am very grateful for that” – Andriy Rublevquoted by Reuters.

When asked whether Russian football players feel guilty about the war in Ukraine, Rublev only said that he wants it all to end.

“It’s not about guilt. The situation is simply terrible. Of course, you wouldn’t wish that on anyone. You want these terrible things to end as soon as possible, so that all people in the world have a chance to live well” – Andriy Rublevquoted by Reuters.
