
The new car market grew significantly in the first half of the year to more than 73,000 units, which is 25% more than in the first half of last year. Used imported cars were down 21%, so the ratio between new cars and SH has changed a lot from last year, when SH definitely dominated.
According to ACAROM data, new car registrations in Romania increased by 19% in June 2023 compared to June 2022, reaching 13,173 units.
In the first six months of 2023, the number of registered new cars reached 73,645 units, which is 25% more than in the same period of 2022, i.e. 58,712 units.
As for used cars registered for the first time in Romania, their volume reached 24,990 units in June 2023, which is 17% less compared to June 2022.
In the first six months of 2023, the registration of used cars registered for the first time in Romania reached the value of 123,443 units, which is -21.18% less compared to the same period of 2022, respectively 156,624 units.
