Emmanuel Badike, the 20-year-old man who was stabbed Tuesday afternoon in the Botanical Gardens, along with the teenage girl who died in the attack, has been breathing without the help of ventilators since Thursday. According to Gazeta de Sud, his condition still remains critical with a cautious prognosis.
“In all my experience working in emergency medicine, I have never seen such aggression in a young person,” said Dr. Christiana Geormanianu, medical director of SJU Craiova, when asked about the severity of the killer’s injuries to the 17-year-old. -year-old teenager, a student of the military higher school in Kraiów.
Later Thursday, doctors eased his sedation for a full neurological evaluation. Then they decided to disconnect from the ventilator, ensuring safe conditions.
According to Digi 24, Emmanuel Bedike would have had the strength to talk to the investigators and give them his version of what happened.
According to his lawyer, the 17-year-old who fatally wounded a 14-year-old girl and seriously injured a 20-year-old man insisted that he did not know the two victims, writes Știri Craiova. It all started when the boy, who is now hospitalized, attacked him when a military college student approached him in the Botanic Gardens in Craiova. He was remanded in custody for 30 days and charged with murder and attempted murder.
The 17-year-old boy told investigators that he had come from the town of Calopar in Dolje, where he lives, in Craiova, and had gone to the botanical garden for a walk, said lawyer Florin Chokou, who is representing the youth, who is charged with murder and attempted murder.
The boy claimed that he started the conflict with the 20-year-old when he stared at the 14-year-old girl.
“Another guy told him that he wasn’t allowed in, why was he looking at her, and punched him twice in the jaw and in the stomach,” said the student’s defender from the Military College.

“Excess Rage”
“Then he got angry and opened his backpack, knapsack, took out gloves and a knife. He ran after the boy, who saw what had happened (that he had pulled out a knife) and ran away. He followed him and knocked him down, wounded him, then followed the girl because he was afraid that the girl would not tell what he saw, that was his motivation,” the lawyer said.
After the attack, the 17-year-old boy put on a mask and ran away from the Botanical Garden. He insisted that, according to the defense, he did not know the two and that he carried out the attack out of anger.
In the killer’s backpack, investigators found gloves, a mask and a hunting knife with a 19 cm blade, which he said he had “forgotten” there.
“It’s a pity for the girl, but the boy is less”
Asked by prosecutors if he regrets what he did, the teenager said he only regrets killing the girl, not the young man who is now fighting between life and death in the hospital.
“He said he felt sorry for the girl, which we were a little stuck on. And the prosecutor and I asked (whether or not) for the boy, and she said yes, and for him, but less, because I can find another way to resolve the conflict,” the lawyer said.
The lawyer says that it is premature to judge what punishment the 17-year-old student will receive, but believes that he could spend between 3 and 10 years behind bars, given that he is a minor and has confessed to the crime, among other things.
The young man will undergo a psychiatric examination, which is mandatory in such cases.
