The Japanese manufacturer is introducing a special edition of its Toyota GR86 sports coupe that pays homage to the Sprinter Trueno AE86 of the 1980s. Toyota GR86 Trueno Editionthis special series features a two-tone livery, special badges and some interior enhancements.

The Toyota GR86 Trueno Edition is indeed offered with white or red body colors that contrast with black decals on the hood or doors. The rear also features a striking specific black spoiler, and ‘Trueno Edition’ badges on the front bumper or rear trunk lid.

Toyota GR86 Trueno Edition: exclusive style

The kit is completed by 18-inch 10-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in black metallic and specific to the Trueno Edition version, not to mention the black door handles and mirror caps.

Inside this special edition, the Ultrasuede sports seats are trimmed in red leather, which matches the door panels and stitching on the gear lever cover, handbrake or leather steering wheel.

There’s also a Trueno Edition-badged gear lever knob, an exclusive number plate and special floor and boot mats. The standard 8-inch touch screen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is complemented by an audio system with eight speakers.

Toyota GR86 Trueno Edition: more performance

The Toyota GR86 Trueno Edition also has the Performance Pack, which is offered as an option on the rest of the range, as well as an accessory on models with 18-inch wheels. It is equipped with ZF Sachs shock absorbers and high-performance Brembo brakes, specially developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing for the GR86 to improve handling, ride comfort and braking performance.

There are also active safety features such as pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, rollover warning, lane departure warning and high beam assist. These systems are in addition to the Toyota Star safety system, which includes vehicle stability control, traction control and ABS.

The Toyota GR86 Trueno Edition will hit the market in limited production by the end of 2023 at prices that have yet to be announced. If the model will be released in 860 copies on the American market, the Japanese manufacturer has not yet confirmed information about its sale in Europe.
