Polish President Andrzej Duda held consultations with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense regarding the situation in Russia, the Warsaw leader said on Saturday, adding that he was monitoring the situation, Reuters writes.

“Regarding the situation in Russia this morning, I had consultations with the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Defense, as well as with allies,” wrote Andrzej Duda on Twitter.

“The course of events on our eastern border is constantly monitored,” he added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an emergency televised address on Saturday that the “armed mutiny” of Wagner group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin was treason and that anyone who spoke out against the Russian army would be punished.

He said he would do everything to protect Russia and that “decisive measures” would be taken to stabilize the situation in Rostov-on-Don, the southern city where Wagner’s head, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said his forces had taken control of all military facilities .
