One of the 10 injured in a collision between a minibus and a semi-trailer last Thursday in central Canada has died in hospital, bringing the death toll to 16, AFP reported.
The woman “was hospitalized after the collision on June 15 and died from her injuries,” Canadian police said in a statement.
The accident, one of the worst in recent years in this country, happened in the province of Manitoba, at the intersection of two highways.
Another nine people are still in hospital, some of them in serious condition. In total, there were 25 people aged 58 to 88 in the minibus at the time of the accident, who were on their way to the casino.
According to the first conclusions of the investigation, which is still ongoing, the minibus entered the intersection when a semi-trailer was approaching.
This tragedy is an echo of the accident that happened in 2018 in the neighboring province of Saskatchewan.
Fifteen people died as a result of a collision between a truck and a bus carrying young hockey players.
