Like all its competitors, Vauxhall is preparing to make its range a 100% electric offering. But that won’t happen before 2028: until then, blitz will continue to offer thermal and hybrid engines alongside its new 100% electric models.

“With the Crossland successor, we will offer 100% electric driving pleasure across the entire range, and we will enable our customers to enjoy zero-emission mobility with each of our models”– said Florian Hüttle, CEO of Opel.

Opel: a fully electrified offering in 2024

The first important step in the electrification of Opel will take place next year: c 2024 yearwill be released by replacement of the city SUV Opel Crossland. This will be offered with a 100% electric motorizationin addition to other engines.

This means that in 2024, Opel will offer its updated range in its catalog 100% electric version of each of its models. We already find there, for example, the unlicensed Rocks Electric car, the 100% electric versions of the Corsa and Mokka, not forgetting the Combo-e Life and the other Zafira-e Life.

Opel also recently launched the new Astra Electric, which will be followed by an all-electric successor to the Grandland SUV next year. The commercial vehicle range is also offered with 100% electric versions such as the Rocks Electric Kargo, Combo-e, Vivaro-e and Movano-e.

Opel: electrified alternatives

Opel’s line of electrified cars also offers other alternatives, as does the lineup Vauxhall GSe : there are indeed Astra GSe, Astra Sports Tourer GSe, as well as Grandland GSe, equipped with a hybrid engine with a capacity of 300 horsepower and a maximum torque of 520 Nm.

Like its counterparts in the Stellantis group, Opel is also one of the pioneers in the production of passenger vans with hydrogen fuel cellwith the Vivaro-e Hydrogen, which is already on the market, and which will be complemented next year by a large van also equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell.

The firm from Rüsselsheim will also supplement its electrified offer with versions 48V hybrids, which can be found, for example, on the new Opel Corsa. This offering will come with 100 and 136 horsepower engines mated to a new dual-clutch automatic transmission.

In general, Opel will offer its catalog no less 15 electrified models till the end of the year. Finally, by 2028, the entire European Opel lineup will consist of 100% electric vehicles.
