Repair work on the first ten streets included in the program of asphalting, modernization and restoration of road infrastructure administered by the local government will begin at the end of June, according to the mayor of Sector 1, Clotilde Armand.
Mayor Armand wrote on Facebook on Sunday that there are ten roads in the north of Sector 1 that have not been repaired or upgraded for about 15 years and where the asphalt is in deep degradation: Berca, Biborţeni, Zăpada Mieilor, Cărbunarilor, Heliului, Simeria, Trifesti , Văliug, Zeletin and Nicolae Şuţu Road.
Clotilde Armand said that this week she signed the construction permits for Buyorului and Nuferilor streets, and by the end of the month the local authorities want to start the works. According to her, the City Hall of Sector 1 should issue permits on Olena Pleshoyanu and Dumitra Zosima Streets.
According to the mayor, these streets are the first package of a much larger program by which the local authority has proposed that the streets in Sector 1 “be worthy” of the European capital. She noted that the local authorities are currently developing approval documentation for the implementation of works for 159 streets that urgently need modernization.
Edilul Armand added that for 24 of them, the City Hall of District 1 prepared draft decisions of the local council, which were “inexplicably” rejected several times by the majority of the PNL-PSD in the local council of District 1. regarding the streets of Elena Klusereasa, Islaz, Panaita Istrati, Gherghel Paraschiva, Virgil Pleşoianu, Costache Sibiceanu, Butuceni, Godeni Entrance, Volumului Street, Craiovei, Pinului, Frasinului, Teodor Iliescu, Theodor Aman, Grigore Alexandrescu Entrance, Hristache Pitarul Street, Victor Eftimiu, Iuliu Tetrat, Ioan Zalomit, Aristide Demetriade, Albak, Dionisia Fotino, Constantin Millet and Chile.
She said she has re-introduced these draft decisions to the agenda of the District 1 local council meeting on June 21 and invited the residents of these streets to come to the local council meeting to ask the PNL-PSD councilors for an explanation of their vote.
Clotilde Armand added that last year the City Hall of Sector 1 signed a framework agreement on the modernization and repair of all city infrastructure managed by the local government, and that based on this document, more than 1,000 streets will be asphalted, repaired or modernized.
