“Offensive comments by Marina Tauber, a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and vice-president of the SOR party, are unacceptable. Using the Holocaust to justify false accusations falls under TheIHRA’s (International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance) definition of anti-Semitism.

As the ambassador of Israel and the child of a Holocaust survivor, I condemn these comments and call on the government of the Republic of Moldova to act against all forms of distortion and denial of the Holocaust, especially when they come from representatives of the parliament,” the diplomat wrote on Twitter.

MP Marina Tauber made a statement on this matter after the European Council drafted a document proposing to impose sanctions on several scandalous politicians from the Republic of Moldova for destabilizing the Republic of Moldova.

The list includes controversial oligarch Ilan Shor, founder of the party that bears his name, Marina Tauber, vice-president of this party, fugitive oligarch Volodymyr Plahotniuk, Gheorghe Kavkalyuk, Russian Ihor Chaika, co-founder of the Moldovan-Russian Business Union headed by former socialist president Ihor Dodon.
