The Romanian played in the final of the WTA qualification tournament in Birmingham on Sunday and defeated the Canadian Rebecca Marino (89 WTA) after three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
After the first set, which was played on counterattacks, Ana Bohdan won, but in the second set, the Canadian made a great start, took a 3:0 lead and leveled the situation.
The decider was still tied, but the end saw him qualify after a Marino drop serve.
The match lasted a little over two hours.
Romanian Sorana Kirstya (32 WTA), who is seeded at number eight, also entered the main draw of the tournament in Birmingham.
The Rothesay Classic Birmingham takes place from June 19-25 on grass and is part of the WTA 250. It offers a total prize pool of $259,303 and the reigning champion is Beatrice Haddad Maia.
