Market for electric bicycles is booming and many players are offering their solutions to convince users to switch to electrified mobility: this is how eBike Lite (EBL France), a French company based in Grenoble, wants to help you turn your regular bike into an electric bike.
His decision, no GBoostdesigned for people who already have an old bike, but would like to convert it into an electric bike simply and quickly: according to EBL, this operation takes only 10 minutes!
GBoost: Electric Bike Conversion Kit
Taking the form of a cylinder of less than 1 kg, 950 grams to be exact, the GBoost V8 kit is lightweight and delivers maximum power 500 W (800 W additionally), is transmitted to the rear wheel through a roller system and provides assistance to 25 km/h.
The system can quickly find its limits on dirty and uneven surfaces, as this mechanism gets dirty quickly, but in the context of urban use for everyday trips, it seems a simple and practical solution.
Installation is quick and easy, and no special tools are needed: only a screw for the engine block, and no external sensors. When in use, the system is able to regenerate energy to charge the battery during downhill travel, while the engine functions as a dynamo. If the battery is completely discharged, you can continue to pedal as you would on a normal bicycle, and the device may completely shut down.

The GBoost V8 conversion kit is offered in several variants: the price of access is set at 749 euros, but you’ll have to select from a list of options to complete the setup. The display is available for €49, and the Bluetooth module for controlling the device via a smartphone app costs €49. To go even further, the “Platinum” option allows you to unlock the mechanism on 800 Wfor auxiliary speed to 35 km/h : for this you will need to calculate an additional €225.
Once you’ve checked all these parameters, the most expensive GBoost V8 will be listed at around €1,700: a pretty compelling price that will probably struggle to compare itself to the full-featured true e-bikes on the market already.
