Iga Svyatek recovered from Lesya Tsurenko’s injury and reached the quarterfinals of Roland Garros

Roland Garros champion in 2020 and 2022, Iga Sviatek took another step towards defending her title won in Paris.

First in the WTA hierarchy, Iga controlled the first set of the dispute with Lesya Tsurenko (66 WTA) and quickly brought the score to 5-1.

In the 29th minute, the player of the Ukrainian national team withdrew due to an injury, so Svyatek is in the quarter.

There, the two-time champion of Roland Garros will play with Coco Gauff (6 WTA), whom she defeated in last year’s final.

The Roland Garros tournament takes place from May 28 to June 11, has a total prize pool of 49.6 million euros, and is the 127th tournament. Iga Sviatek and Rafael Nadal (14-time winner in Paris) became the champions of the title.
