Jaguar Land Rover: new logo and new ambitions News from Auto Plus in your smartphone News from Auto Plus in your inbox

A new era has just begun for Jaguar Land Rover. From 1Er June, the British group has a new logo, which is supposed to synthesize four new “brands” of the group : Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar.

The rebranding is part of a ‘Reimagining’ plan unveiled in April as Jaguar Land Rover enters a major transition period through a series of investments totaling around 17 billion euros.

A new chapter begins

The new logo appeared on the group’s various websites. The brand names and “JLR” should not appear on future models, but the Land Rover and Jaguar logos will always be there. Range Rover, Defender and Discovery will always remain a kind of “sub-brand” associated with Land Rover.

As you know, the future of the JLR group will be electrified. The British firm’s investment plan foreshadows a strong push for electrics, starting with the adoption of the ELR platform, which will give rise to a new electric Range Rover in 2025.

The JEA architecture is also slated for this year and will underpin three new electric Jaguars, including a four-door GT with a range of 700 km and a base price of €115,000, according to initial rumours.

The most iconic models will also become electric

They will all pass, even the Defender. According to preliminary information, the most famous Land Rover will become electric in 2025 thanks to the adaptation of the current MLA Flex platform. In the same year, the entire Defender line should be updated, with the mandatory arrival of new electrified units.

JLR has already given a roadmap for its two brands: In 2030, Land Rover will become a brand that will offer electric vehicles, while for Jaguar the term is much shorter. In effect, from 2025, the manufacturer will offer only electric cars.
