The intervention of the prosecutor was caused by complaints about phishing attempt in the EPAL candidate with the aim of harming the national ones.

The prosecutor’s office of Volos ordered a preliminary examination following a complaint by the director of secondary education, Magnesia Sokratis Savelidis, according to which the student and his mother received a call from Rome, and the answering machine told them that the change of the exam should be done by the center, which they learn about by opening the link sent by e-mail.

According to ERT, if the student provides the requested information, the unknown sender will have access to the nationwide court system and all of the family’s computer data.

Both Mr. Savelidis and the child’s family will be called as witnesses to testify as part of the preliminary investigation into the unlawful attempt to provide access codes to the information system.
