Kasper Ruud, Alexander Zverev, Holger Rohn and Taylor Fritz advanced to the second round of Roland Garros on Tuesday, a day Russia’s Daniil Medvedev was unexpectedly knocked out.

The Norwegian Casper Ruud (4 ATP) had an easy task in the first round of the tournament in Paris, managing to defeat the Swede Elias Imer (155 ATP) in three sets with the score 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.

Holger Roon, student of Patrik Muratoglu, lost a set to American Christopher Eubanks (74 ATP), but leads after 6-4, 3-6, 7-6, 6-2.

Two other favorites, Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz, needed three sets each to reach the next round.

The failure of the day was Daniil Medvedev, who was eliminated in the first round by Brazilian Thiago Seibot Wilde (172 ATP).

The Roland Garros tournament takes place from May 28 to June 11, has a total prize pool of 49.6 million euros, and is the 127th tournament. Iga Sviatek and Rafael Nadal (14-time winner in Paris) became the champions of the title.
