Legendary singer Tina Turner, who died Wednesday at the age of 83, also lost her second biological son, Ronnie, nearly six months ago after her first child, Craig, took his own life in 2018.

Tina Turner had two biological sons: Craig, her son with saxophonist Raymond Hill, and Ronnie with Ike Turner. The first husband of the artist, Ike Turner, adopted Craig. In turn, Tina adopted Ike’s other two children, Ike Turner Jr. and Michael Turner.

However, both of her biological children predeceased her.

Last December, the 83-year-old singer paid tribute to her “beloved son” Ronnie Turner, who died aged 62, writing in an online post that he had left the world “too soon”. Ronnie was suffering from advanced colon cancer.

Ronnie Turner was a singer himself, a member of a group called “Manufactured Funk”. He also appeared in the 1993 film What’s Love Got to Do With It, a biopic about his mother.

It was the second such tragedy that the artist would experience. Her eldest son, Craig Turner, who she had with musician Raymond Hill, was found dead a few years ago. He committed suicide in June 2018 at the age of 59.
